Product Introduction

Ferro Molybdenum  60 (FeMo-60) is an alloy containing 60% molybdenum and 40% iron. It is used in a wide range of applications due to its combination of particular properties and characteristics.

 

Description

Ferro-Moly has a strong combination of good tensile strength, high hardness and good corrosion resistance. It has a low coefficient of thermal expansion, making it ideal for parts that would otherwise suffer from high thermal stresses. The combination of resistance to high temperatures and low coefficient of thermal expansion make FeMo-60 suitable for applications such as engine valves, spacers, gears, bearing components and welding wire.

Molybdenum is generally a dark silver/gray in colour. It is easily shaped, formed and machined, making it a popular choice for automotive and engineering components.

Main application

FeMo can be easily welded using arc welding, spot welding, MIG welding and TIG welding. It also has excellent formability, allowing it to be bent, rolled and abraded.
